Sunderkand

 Sunderkand

Sunderkand is the fifth chapter of the Hindu holy book called Ramayan.

What does it contains?

When Rama sets out for searching Sita towards lanka, they were at the bank of sea at Rameshwar and were planning how to cross the sea. Jamwant reminded Shree Hanumanji of having a divine power of flying, Shree Hanumanji sets out towards lanka in search of Sitaji. This is the commencement of sunderkand. On the way Hanumanji met lots of obstacles in the form of she demon Sursa than lankini, however He successfully reaches lanka by over powering them. On reaching He meets Vibhishan [brother of Ravana] where he tells Hanumanji about the critical situation of Sitaji and told about Ashok Vatika. Hanumanji meets Sitaji after showing the proof of being the ambassador of Shree Rama. He than destroys the Ashok Vatika [beautiful garden] upon which Ravan gets annoyed and sent his sons to kill Him but in this process one of his son got killed. However they could overpower Hanumanji who brought Him in front of Ravan. Ravan orders his followers to lit a fire on his tail. As a result of this the tail went on becoming bigger and bigger and the fire engulfed whole lanka. After doing this Hanumanji went to meet Sitaji and said He will come with lord Ram to rescue her. Hanumanji narrated total incident to lord Rama on returning from Lanka. Upon this Rama started his journey towards lanka by creating Ram setu [BRIDGE] on the sea and enters lanka. This is the sunderkand being narrated in verses and poetry form.

Why it is named "Sunderkand"?

The Trikutachal mountains at Srilanka have three ranges.- Neel range on which the country people stay.- Suvel range which is the vast plateau.- Sundar range where Ashok Vatika is located and the total events of Sunderkand took place on this range, hence the sunderkand.Further more shri Tulsidasji has said;Sundere sundero ram sundere sunderi kathaSundere sunderi sita sundere Kim na sunderem. Meaning of this is, in sunderkand everything is sunder that is beautiful. Rama is beautiful; Sita is beautiful the story is beautiful. It is an upasana or a prayer of beautiful people hence the prayer has to generate a power for the devotee or sadhak or the reciter. It contains a lovely hugging of lord Rama and his devotee Shree Hanumanji showering the word of appreciation and indebt ness for all good Hanuman ji did to Rama while rescuing Sita. A devotee to whom Rama could not reciprocate. He did as a sevak. This power percolates to the devotee who prays to lord Hanumanji via sunderkand containing the praise of lord Shree Hanumanji.

This application is a combination of Shani Dev Chalisa, Shani Dev ji Aarti and Shani Dev Stotram.

Shani dev is one of the Navagraha (the nine primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology) of Jyotiṣa. Shani dev is embodied in the planet Saturn and is the Lord of Saturday. Shani dev is also known as Śanaiścara (शनैश्चर).

The word shani also denotes the seventh day or Saturday in most Indian languages. The word shani comes from Śanayē Kramati Saḥ, the one who moves slowly, because Saturn takes about 30 years to revolve around the Sun.

Shani's gravitational power is more than that of the Earth's. Therefore, when we think good or bad thoughts and make plans, they reach Shani by the strength of his power. In astrological terms, the bad influence is considered as unlucky. But the result of good deeds will be good. Therefore, we must understand God Shani as a friend and not as foe. And for bad deeds, he is Sade Saathi, disaster and an enemy.

Indeed, to illustrate Vishnu’s superior status, Brahma is, in some accounts, considered to have been born from a lotus flower which grew from Vishnu’s naval. A complex character, Lord Vishnu is the Preserver and guardian of men (Narayana), he protects the order of things (dharma) and, when necessary, he appears on earth in various incarnations or avatars to fight demons and fierce creatures and so maintain cosmic harmony.

Gayatri Chalisa Aarti Stotram

 Gayatri Mata

This application is a combination of Maa Gayatri Chalisa, Maa Gayatri Aarti and Maa Gayatri Stotram. Gayatri is typically portrayed as seated on a red lotus, signifying wealth. She appears in either of these forms:

Having five heads (Mukta, Vidruma, Hema, Neela, Dhavala) with the ten eyes looking in eight directions plus the earth and sky, and ten arms holding all the weapons of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma.

Accompanied by a white swan, holding a book to portray knowledge in one hand and a cure in the other, as the Goddess of education.

She is an aspect of Mata Saraswati, Mata Lakshmi and Mata Parvati, all three in one form, a form of Adi Shakti, possessing the Rajasi Guna and, hence, is the source of Brahma's power. Without her, Brahma remains dormant or unable to create. It's said that if one were to worship anyone, Gayathri Lakshmi Saraswati Durga or Radha devi, it is equal to worshiping all the pancha (5) matha.

Gayatri is, in fact, the name applied to one of the most well known Vedic hymn consisting of twenty-four syllables. This hymn is addressed to god Surya (sun) as the supreme generative force. Being translated this hymn means "We meditate on that glorious light of the divine Surya (Sun), may he, the lord of light, illuminate our minds". It is ordained that repeating this hymn again and again leads to salvation. One who desires to attain heaven should recite it a thousand times each day. A person, who daily repeats the Gayatri hymn 3000 times for one month, shall be freed from guilt, however great.

Gayatri later came to be personified as a goddess. She is shown having five heads and is usually seated within a lotus. She is another consort of Brahma.

Krishna Chalisa Aarti Ashtakam

Shree Krishna Ji

This application is a combination of Krishna Chalisa, Krishna ji ki Aarti and Krishna Ashtakam.

Vedic writings say that Krishna has a stunningly beautiful spiritual form (Krishnameans "all-attractive"), He plays a flute, His complexion is like a dark rain cloud, He wears peacock feathers in His long, black, curly hair, the soles of His feet are decorated with auspicious symbols, His voice is like rumbling thunder, and a unique gem—Kaustubha—hangs around His neck, along with a garland of ever-fresh flowers, attracting bees humming Vedic hymns.

Krishna's enchanting smile is irresistible, as are His attractively moving eyebrows. His clothing is compared to lightning. His wide eyes, delicate hands, reddish-soled feet, and His deep navel often draw comparisons to the beauty of lotus flowers. The luster of His dazzling toenails is compared to moonlight, and He always appears in the fullness of youth. One of Krishna’s names is adhokshaja, He who is beyond the material senses. It's easy for us to see matter. The Supreme Person is 100% spiritual, and we need spiritual vision to be able to see Him. Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita that He keeps a curtain of illusion (maya) between Himself and those who have no affection for Him. Unless we consider that the ultimate source of everything, the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Person, God, is also the origin of all forms. Our forms in the material world are temporary, changeable, and often causes of misery, but the Absolute Truth is eternal, unchanging, and blissful.

Giri Raj Chalisa Aarti Images

 Giri Raj Ji

This application is a combination of Giri Raj Chalisa, Giri Raj ji ki Aarti and Giri Raj Wallpaper themes.

A Govardhana Shila is the representation of God by an aniconic symbol rather than an image. Indian art overwhelmingly prefers the iconic image, but some aniconism does occur in folk worship, early Buddhism, Shiva's Banalinga, Vishnu's Saligrama Sila (murthi)), etc. . They have solar significance, and their use in worship predates the Hindu period in India. The Govardhana sila is a rock from the Govardhan hill in Vrindavana. Govardhan hill holds a unique position in Hindu Mythology related to Krishna, the land called Vrij where He was born. The stone is usually brown in color. Known as Govardhan or Giriraj and being the sacred center of Braj, it is identified as a natural form of Krishna.

Govardhan, a very famous place of Hindu pilgrimage, is located 26 km west of Mathura (154 km from New Delhi) on the state highway to Deeg. Govardhan is located on a narrow sandstone hill known as Giriraj which is about 8 km in length. When Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did parikrama (circumambulation) of Govardhana Hill while visiting Vrindavana in 1515 AD, he did not walk on the hill because he considered Govardhana as non-different from Lord Krishna. Therefore, traditionally Vaishnavas don’t step on Govardhan hill.

Maa Durga Chalisa,Aarti,Kavach

 Maa Durga

This application is a combination of Durga Chalisa, Durga ji ki Aarti and Durga Kavach. Goddess Durga is the mother of the universe and is believed to be the power behind the work of creation, preservation, and destruction of the world. Since time immemorial she has been worshipped as the supreme power of the Supreme Being and has been mentioned in many scriptures - Yajur Veda, Vajasaneyi Samhita and Taittareya Brahman.

The word "Durga" in Sanskrit means a fort, or a place which is difficult to overrun. Another meaning of "Durga" is "Durgatinashini," which literally translates into "the one who eliminates sufferings." Thus, Hindus believe that goddess Durga protects her devotees from the evils of the world and at the same time removes their miseries.

There are many incarnations of Durga: Kali, Bhagvati, Bhavani, Ambika, Lalita, Gauri, Kandalini, Java, Rajeswari, et al. Durga incarnated as the united power of all divine beings, who offered her the required physical attributes and weapons to kill the demon "Mahishasur". Her nine appellations are Skondamata, Kusumanda, Shailaputri, Kaalratri, Brahmacharini, Maha Gauri, Katyayani, Chandraghanta and Siddhidatri.

Durga is depicted as having eight or ten hands. These represent eight quadrants or ten directions in Hinduism. This suggests that she protects the devotees from all directions. Like Shiva, Mother Durga is also referred to as "Triyambake" meaning the three eyed Goddess. The left eye represents desire (the moon), the right eye represents action (the sun), and the central eye knowledge (fire).

The lion represents power, will and determination. Mother Durga riding the lion symbolises her mastery over all these qualities. This suggests to the devotee that one has to possess all these qualities to get over the demon of ego.

Devi Durga stands on a lion in a fearless pose of "Abhay Mudra", signifying assurance of freedom from fear. The universal mother seems to be saying to all her devotees: "Surrender all actions and duties onto me and I shall release those from all fears".

The famous temple of Ma Chamunda is in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is around 10 km west of Palampur, on the Baner river. Around 400 years ago the king and a Brahmin priest prayed to Devi for permission to move the temple to some easily accessible location. Devi appeared to the priest in a dream giving her consent. She directed him to dig in a certain spot and an ancient idol would be found and that idol should be installed in the temple and worshipped as Her form.

The king sent out men to bring the idol. Although they were able to locate it but were not able to lift it. Again Devi appeared to the priest in a dream. She explained that the men could not lift the holy relic because they considered it an ordinary stone. She instructed him to get up early in the morning, take a bath, wear fresh clothes and go to the place in a respectful manner. He did as he was told and found that he could easily lift what a large group of men could not. He told the people that it was the power of the Goddess that brought the idol to the temple.
